Coach Joe Mann is a lifelong Annapolis, Maryland native who now calls Centreville, Maryland home. He proudly serves the Annapolis, MD community as a Lieutenant with the Annapolis Police Department and is entering his 18th year in law enforcement. Coach Joe brings extensive experience in
Leadership, Training, and Mentorship to both his professional and athletic pursuits.
Coach Joe is a certified Defense Tactics Instructor and a Level II Gracie Survival Tactics
Instructor. He is an International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (IBJJF) recognized Purple Belt and has been practicing Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for over 10 years, with competition experience. He is also a certified First Responder, holding CPR and lifesaving credentials, along with multiple advanced leadership and mentoring certifications through the Maryland Police and Correctional Training Commissions.
Coach Joe will be coaching and managing Team Randori Centreville Academy, where he is dedicated to fostering a strong, supportive team culture built on discipline, accountability, team work, socialization, confidence, goal setting and continuous growth.
Beyond his law enforcement career and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Coach Joe is an assistant football coach at Queen Anne’s County High School, where he enjoys mentoring young athletes and reinforcing the values of discipline, teamwork, and accountability.
Married and a proud father of a young daughter, Coach Joe credits much of his passion for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to the camaraderie and team and family-oriented atmosphere it fosters. He strongly believes in the synergy between law enforcement and Jiu-Jitsu and takes great pride in applying lessons learned in each discipline to the other.
